Swedish Cafe: Fågel Blå
Last weekend, a friend and I trekked in the biting winter wind to the Swedish cafe: Fågel Blå.
I decided to get the February seasonal sweet, Semla, a sweet roll served between Christmas and Easter originally only eaten on Shrove Tuesday before Lent.
I was surprised by the subtle flavor of Semla. Simple and filling, Semla is a basic wheat-roll with a bit of cardamom mixed in, whipped cream, and almond paste.
I also got the Lingonberry Soda, which went perfectly with my Marimekko inspired manicure!
The cafe is currently hosting a Swedish exchange student who helps out around the cafe.
Fågel Blå sells a variety of Swedish and Scandinavian goods and zakka.
Some zakka include: coasters, tea towels, teacups, postcards,
Marimekko pot holders and children's shoes.
Some lovely traditional cross-stitch work hangs on the walls.
The cafe has a relaxed, at home atmosphere, and is rumored to have a terrific brunch menu...
I know I will go back again soon to try it!
So cute! Wish I lived in Japan so I could eat at all these adorable cafes with you!
