Mt. Ikoma Cafe: Hygge
If you take a taxi, or don't mind a bit of a walk (about 20 minutes from the station), Cafe Hygge is hidden deep in the mountains of Osaka near Mt. Ikoma.
Like a little English house in the countryside,
Hygge has an old fashioned fireplace and a warm, at-home atmosphere.
It's easy to spend a few hours here just relaxing over coffee and a good novel.
Chandelier crystals hang from a wild rose bush, catching the sunlight.
The garden reminds me of upcountry Maui, where the air is crisp
and succulents and roses grow happily.
Osaka is can be a very loud, busy place.
But at Hygge in the forest (for at least a few hours) I can find peace.
All photos shot on Canon A-1 with Fujifilm BW Presto 400
(my fave film, which is no longer in production:<)
*This cafe's address is hard to find without using Japanese,
so here it is: 7-1 Nishimatsugaoka, Ikoma, Nara Prefecture
