Miyajima cafe: Kakiwai

Miyajima is a beautiful island off the coast of Hiroshima. Since I last visited the island nearly 7 years ago, it has become a hub for not only breathtaking sightseeing, but also quaint coffeeshops and cafes. On a local friend's recommendation, we went to the hillside cafe/bar, Kakiwai.
The wild deer freely enter and exit the cafe's little moss garden.
The cafe serves coffee, tea, and cake in the daytime, then alcohol and light appetizers
(of course, Hiroshima's famous oysters!) in the evening.
A room with a view!
Seasonal ikebana arrangements and attention to little details are what makes Japan so alluring to me.
In the last week of October, it was still warm enough to sit on the veranda overlooking Senjokaku Hall.
The cafe serves Miyajima coffee produced by local coffee roasters.
Ah, the tranquility of autumn on Miyajima...

(photography note: For the first time in ten years, I finally got a new Macbook, Photoshop CC and Capture One! All my photos had just been edited with Windows Photo Gallery, which is a very simple, yet useful application. Until now, the most editing I did was brightness, contrast and adjusting light/shadows. Photoshop CC is a bit overwhelming at the moment,
but hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.)
