Miyajima guest house: Kaniwa

The sun is setting in Miyajima and hundreds of people are heading back to the ferry.  

It is getting peaceful and quiet as all the tourists leave. 

Oh, how I wish I could just stay the night on this tiny island...

Well, now I can. And you can too. An old friend of mine recently opened Kaniwa, a dorm-style guesthouse two minutes from the ferry terminal. 

The facilities are brand new, the design is cool and modern, and best of all, it's ¥3,000/night! 

 Chill on the tatami mat and read a book!

Although the rooms are dorm-style, there are separate rooms for female and male guests, and also private rooms if requested in advance are available.

The kitchen is also shared, so feel free to bring your own food or breakfast. 

There aren't many shopping options on the island, so I recommend eating dinner in Miyajima town and bringing in your own breakfast food.
